The chateau and gardens of Villandry participate in the family initiative “Entrez dans la Cour des Grands” (Come and Play with the Big Kids). This entertaining, educational programme is a fun way for families to visit the cultural sites of Anjou and Touraine. Come and join in!
What is a garden for?
Interpretation points around the gardens offer children and their parents the chance to answer this question while having fun! With a game sheet handed out to them at reception, 7 to 12 year olds can follow a special family trail, so as not to miss out on anything in the gardens. A children’s version of the audioguide, designed specially for 7 to 12 year olds, is available in French.
A range of services (e.g. baby-changing facilities equipped with a bottle warmer) make family visits easier. The children’s play area and the hedge maze are ideal places to have fun, while the gardens as a whole are an invitation for families to have an enjoyable time together.
In addition, all of the chateau’s events include workshops for children.
Both shops have books and accessories aimed at children and budding gardeners.
Meanwhile, the restaurant “La Doulce Terrasse” offers children’s and babies’ menus, together with a variety of tasty snacks – including hot pancakes and homemade ice creams – to enjoy all year round!
