From 14 june to 30 september 2019 : Gilles de Kerverseau – Sculptures

Throughout the summer, the Villandry gardens will play host to modern art.  Four works by artist Gilles de Kerversau will take centre stage in the pathways of the Sun Garden, up on the estate’s highest terrace. The sculptor has a passion for animal art, with works currently exhibited throughout the world. Here we are forced to reflect on the way animal imitates man…or man imitates animal. The Philosopher Frog, the Travelling Pigeon, the Opera Rat and the Dancing Chicken all provoke discussion and introspection.

These works are particularly reflective of this year’s Meeting in the Gardens theme “Animals in the Gardens”, from 8 to 9 June.

Exhibition included in the gardens entrance fee
