From 16 June to 30 September 2021 : Rémanences, Jean-Paul Moscovino
“I cut, I fold, I shape color and I move to the other side, I enter the heart of the shape, I surround myself, I wrap myself”.
Folding, at the heart of creation. From a plane, from a sheet, forms arise in the hands of the artist. With fingertips, this is how Jean-Paul Moscovino’s sculptures come to life. In these open works, the gaze wanders. The experience is subordinate to the environment, where the lighting and the point of view influence light and shadow, generated by the folds, transforming it at will. Exhibited in the Jardin du Soleil, the four sculptures will move throughout the summer, to the rhythm of the hours, the sun and the cloudy skies … Cobalt blue among the flamboyant hues of this garden, their presence is both contrast and coherence. The choice of color, of its material, is not left to chance by the artist. Far from there. It is at the heart of perception.
Throughout the summer, the Rémanences series can be guessed, then discovered, challenged and revealed in the sunniest of Villandry gardens.
