A regular visitor
Individual visitors to the château and gardens of Villandry can enjoy a choice of permanent and temporary exhibitions and events, which they can visit unaccompanied, as part of a guided tour or with an audioguide or smartphone app.
The château and gardens of Villandry are a living testament to the periods they have spanned. Since the Renaissance, they have undergone changes according to the aspirations of their successive owners: innovative and outward-looking in the Renaissance; the pursuit of comfort in the 18th century; a return to their origins in the early 20th century; continuity in modernity in the 21st century.
Throughout the year, Villandry’s gardens are open to individual visitors. A stroll around the gardens offers an opportunity to discover the synthesis of a Western garden through a series of gardens mainly in the Renaissance style, but also medieval, ornamental and contemporary.
From February to mid-November and during Christmas holidays, visitors can immerse themselves in the warm atmosphere of the fully furnished château and enjoy the rich collection of Spanish paintings formed by the Carvallo family.
