In 2026, the château will open from 7 February to 11 November 2026, and from 28 November until 3 Januaray 2027 included (except for the 25th December).

How to get there ?

Villandry is located in the Loire Valley. It is just nine miles from Tours and 30min from Chenonceau.

2026 Opening Times

The gardens are open every day, all year round, except December 25.
The château will be open from February 7 to November 11, 2026, then from November 28, 2026 to January 3, 2027 inclusive, except December 25.

You need approximately 1 hour to visit the château, and 1h30 to visit the gardens.

How to visit Villandry

  • For individual visitors: daily guided tours of the château in French (approximately 1h15) offered from 14 March to 11 November 2026 (except Sundays and long weekends).
    Regular departures, variable hours depending on the season.
    The visit is offered without reservation and at no additional cost to the entrance fee.
  • For groups (from 15 visitors), guided tours of the château and / or gardens are available by reservation (in French or in English).

To prepare for your visit

  • You can buy your tickets directly on site for the visit of the château and the gardens, or the gardens only.
    No reservation – No limitation of places.
  • E-tickets are not skip-the-line tickets.
  • Free car / bus parking spaces are available to visitors near the chateau.
    In the château parking lot, there are parking spaces reserved for camper vans for the duration of the visit (night parking prohibited – camper van area in the village).
  • An unguarded bicycle parking is located near the entrance to the domain.
  • 4 parking spaces for people with disabilities are located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the domain. Other spaces are also available at the tourist office car park (150 m from the entrance).
  • A circuit indicated in the visit booklet enables you to explore all of the gardens with a stroller.
  • Strollers are not allowed inside the castle. You can drop them off in a dedicated space at the entrance to the castle during the visit.
  • A baby-changing table and a baby bottle warmer are available.
  • A book-game “Le Sortilège de Jean Le Breton” is given to families in the ticket office to visit the gardens. In French only – for 8-12 years old.
  • Dogs are admitted in the gardens, kept on a leash throughout the visit.
  • Only small dogs carried in a bag/basket throughout the visit are permitted inside the château.
  • Picnics are not allowed in the park. We allow you to go out for lunch and then come back to finish your visit. The ticket is valid all day.
  • A picnic area about 100m from the château entrance (behind the Tourist Office of Villandry) is available.

Storage lockers are available to visitors after the ticket office.
Small bags, backpacks, motorcycle helmets can be dropped off for free.

  • Located just before the entrance to the site, La Doulce Terrasse, restaurant and tea room of the château, is open every day from 10am to 5pm from 1st April to 11h November 2026.
  • Un kiosque de vente à emporter se trouve également à proximité (sandwich, glaces, …)
  • You can go out for lunch and then come back to finish your visit, the ticket is valid all day.

How to come to Villandry?

To come and enjoy our gardens at any time of the year, you have a number of possibilities.

Villandry is easily accessible by motorway and road. It is just nine miles from Tours, in the Loire Valley.
By the A85, Villandry is just half an hour from Chenonceau!

If you come by rail: from Paris Montparnasse (55 mins), then by taxi from Tours or Saint-Pierre-des-Corps station (20 mins)

Free parking cars/buses are available near the castle.
An unguarded bicycle parking is located near the entrance to the domain.

by car :

  • from Paris (240km) : A10 sortie n°24 (Joué-lès-Tours) then A85, direction Saumur, sortie n°8 (Villandry / Lignières de Touraine)
  • from Nantes (200km) : A11 direction Angers, then A85//E60 until sortie n°8 (Villandry / Lignières de Touraine)
  • from Tours : take the D7 towards Villandry (around 20 minutes drive)

by train :

The closest train stations are located in Tours and Saint-Pierre-des-corps.

  • from Paris : 55 minutes from Paris Montparnasse station, then you need to take a taxi to Villandry (20 minutes)
  • from Nantes : TER train (90mn), then you need to take a taxi in Tours or Saint-Pierre-des-Corps (20mn)

You can also hire a bike in Tours and cycle to Villandry along the Loire à Vélo route (see below). The château de Villandry has the label “Accueil Vélo”, and provides the following services to welcome cycle tourists :

  • Unattended bike parking right before the chateau entrance.
  • Left luggage inside the château.

Two charging stations for electric bicylces are available in the tourist office crapark (250m from the château).

by public transport (from Tours)

Bus : ligne 32 – bus station « Villandry Centre » (280m by foot from the château)
