"The Ladies of Villandry"

A passionate collector, for many years she has been patiently unearthing antique silks and lace, which she skilfully embroiders, creating motifs, large-scale tapestries, small tableaux or even bound books.
For this new exhibition at the Château de Villandry, she wanted to bring back to life members of the Carvallo family, navigating through the eras and creating her works from photographs or paintings, testimonies from different generations of a family established in Villandry since the beginning of the 20th century.

The exhibition will also feature many other pieces, such as beautiful dresses, highlighting the traditional art of Touraine embroidery.

The week following the European Heritage Days, embroidery demonstrations will be organised by Touraine’s white embroiderers.
